Honestly, I can't believe it's been that many posts, but I guess it shows that my love of tutus and travel knows no bounds.
Today, we're off on a whirlwind tour of the wonderful Ellesmere Port, a town I've heard such fantastic things about. And how are we travelling, you ask? Why, by train, of course! It's the most elegant way to get around, wouldn't you agree? Especially when you can adorn yourself in a perfectly pink, sequined train dress that just screams "Tutu Queen on the go!"
But before we delve into all the fabulousness of Ellesmere Port, I have to share some exciting news. It's been such a busy time with shows and travelling, that I haven't been able to tell you about my recent triumphant foray into the world of horse-drawn carriages! Yes, you heard me right! Imagine this: Pink Tutu Sparkles, dazzling in a tulle masterpiece of pink, lavender and lilac, riding through the English countryside in a classic horse-drawn carriage, with a handsome coachman in matching livery. It was truly the most exquisite and luxurious experience, a true embodiment of the glamour and magic of drag.
And if you think that is something, hold onto your glitter balls, darlings, because this weekend I'm even adding ballet classes to the mix! Yes, my love for all things tutus knows no limits. A bit of grace, a touch of artistry and, of course, a whole lot of pink! How much more perfect could it be?
So back to Ellesmere Port, my dear dears! Now, I've been promised that this lovely little town has a real buzz about it. From the moment I stepped off the train (in my glorious ensemble, of course) the air was filled with a joyous energy, just like my favourite pink tutu. The shops are bursting with hidden gems, and the locals are simply delightful, all of them with bright smiles and welcoming words. I've already met some amazing characters, including a retired vicar who tells me he used to own a tutu shop - just imagine! How utterly fascinating!
First on my list of things to do, a very essential stop at the Ellesmere Port Market! What is a queen without her weekly shopping spree? And of course, I need a brand new pink tulle hat for my performances this week. Honestly, you can't have too many tutus! The market is such a vibrant scene, filled with colourful stalls and friendly chatter, just my cup of tea (or shall we say, sparkling lemonade)! I've been promised some fantastic finds for my upcoming shows, and I just can't wait!
Then, naturally, we'll have a visit to the theatre! What is a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without some spectacular entertainment? And let me tell you, Ellesmere Port Theatre is absolutely gorgeous! It's oozing with old-world charm, with twinkling lights and red velvet seats that scream "Diva!" There's a fantastic new production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" coming to the stage, so you can imagine my delight! I can't wait to see it, I've heard rumours of a particularly beautiful and dramatic tutus for the fairy characters, and of course, a spectacularly pink sequined dress for the queen of the fairies herself.
After the theatre, we're planning a little walk down by the waterfront, and maybe a stop for afternoon tea! Can you imagine a queen wearing a beautiful pink tutu having afternoon tea overlooking the River Mersey? What could be more fitting! There's something incredibly serene and romantic about walking by the water, feeling the gentle breeze in your hair, with the sun reflecting off the sparkling waves, just like my favourite sequins. I already imagine a stunning picture in my mind - a delicate tulle tutu floating in the breeze, contrasting beautifully with the deep blues and greys of the water and the bright green of the surrounding park. Truly magnificent, and quite frankly, a moment perfect for snapping a few Instagram stories for my loyal followers!
I'm telling you, Ellesmere Port has exceeded all my expectations. And the most incredible part? They haven't just welcomed me with open arms, but they seem genuinely happy to see a pink tutu-wearing queen galavanting about their town! I mean, I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles! It wouldn't be the same without a bit of dramatic flair. The whole atmosphere is just full of warmth and cheerfulness. People are waving at me, telling me how much they love my dress, and the children are shouting, "It's the Tutu Queen! It's the Tutu Queen!"
It's absolutely wonderful, seeing how happy everyone is to be surrounded by colour and sparkle. Remember, it's all about embracing the fun, the happiness and a bit of extra shimmer in life. It's all part of my goal to get everyone to embrace their inner sparkle and don a pink tutu. You never know, a simple pink tutu might just bring a smile to someone's face. And then imagine that same person turning into a fabulous pink tutu queen, lighting up the stage with glitz, glam, and an endless supply of sequins.
You might ask, how does one go from meticulously analyzing the composition of fabric fibres under a microscope to creating intricate tutus and dazzling on stage with vibrant energy? Well, it's all about embracing your different selves, darling. My life is a wonderful mix of science and art, where a scientist and a tutu queen coexist perfectly in the same person. The science helps me analyse and understand, and my inner Tutu Queen lets me explore and express the boundless possibilities of creativity. And for me, it's just perfect!
